My name’s Joed. I have 25 years experience in video production and editing. I spent many of those years as the video production specialist for the non-profit Arctic Research Consortium of the US, creating many educational, outreach, and promotional videos for their varied programs, and I continue to work on contract work for them. I’m broadening my work now, looking to partner with more non-profits, scientific organizations, and companies doing interesting work.
I have been making short films since the age of nine, at first for fun, then for school projects, and later as a profession. I still find the time to make films for fun as the leader of a crew where I wear many hats (writer, cinematographer, director, and editor). Our team has won many awards in the Boston 48 Hour Film Project, including Best Film in 2024.
I have a strong sense for visual storytelling and can quickly piece together what is needed for a particular project – from gathering materials, creating a shot list, to contacting relevant parties to prepare the shoot. As part of a team, or self-directed, I love working in the scientific and education space, but can help you with whatever video project you have in mind. I am based in Somerville, MA so primarily service the greater Boston area, but I love to travel for work so am open to that. I grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska and still do work there as well.
